New Adventures
So, it's official. As of September 1st I have joined Proact as a Senior Systems Engineer.
In my new position I will have a focus on tools and processes around integration and automation of the customers' business and their infrastructure. Tools like the vRealize suite will be essential and with my experience in automation and scripting I will hopefully be able to help our customers on their journey to a Software-Defined Datacenter.
I am very excited about this change and can't wait to get to know our customers and all my new colleagues!
On the other side I am deeply grateful to Intility where I have had four amazing years. I've learnt so much over these years, I've been given tasks, responsibilities and time that have brought me to a position where I could apply for, and be accepted as, a vExpert in 2018 and renewed in 2019.
I've had colleagues that are among the smartest people I've ever met and that have taught me so much, both technically and personally. Combine that with a very strong focus from the owner's side on the well-being of the employees, the decision to move on was one of the most difficult ones I've ever had to make.
Working for a Managed Service provider is a challenging thing. Especially in Intility's case as all customers share the common infrastructure platform. One mistake can, and will, affect all customers. The lessons learned in doing things in a secure matter has been valuable. The art of "getting the job done" will never be forgotten. There will always be stuff that could be done slightly better or more efficient, but is it worth it? Compared to the complexity and hours needed? More often than not the answer is no.
Well, enough of personal ramblings. I try to keep my blog mostly technical. Now I'll jump in to the vRealize docs and training material. Hopefully there will be some blog-worthy stuff coming out of that later on!
